New Folding Drum Causes "Eddies" at the "WIRE & TUBE" Trade Fair in Düsseldorf

The company Borkener Kistenfabrik GmbH has well and truly drawn intention to itself with a unique folding drum at the international specialised “WIRE & TUBE“ trade fair in Düsseldorf: this innovative packaging solution is a steel drum with outer flanges which can be reduced to around a third of their original size. “This new development should serve to strengthen our market position and offer our customers an interesting alternative to conventional transport drums“, said managing director Anja Seibel.

According to Anja Seibel, the advantages which the folding drum which is suitable for use with straps, hoses, ropes, cables or chains has are obvious: “It provides an optimal capacity to external volume ratio. Furthermore, the transport costs are reduced extensively due to the return freight being folded“, said Seibel. There is around a 50 percent reduction in space requirements, this being a great advantage when compared with traditional transport drums. “An additional factor is the fast, secure and simple assembly which enables the drum to be used without difficulty“, said the entrepreneur.
