A 7-m diameter rope drum with up to 450 t of steel rope wound round it carries 10 times its own weight. Before the wooden or steel drums can be shipped to the installation site, the rope or cable has to be wound onto them. This is a process that demands great precision and also subjects the structure to enormous mechanical stress. In partnership with a firm of consultant engineers, we at Borki offer our customers easy-to-operate, motor-driven winders and unwinders, equipment that’s designed for use with both wooden and steel drums.

Our winders can be found first and foremost in industrial ports where rope and cable drums are loaded onto and unloaded from ships. Thanks to their great mobility, our unwinders are far superior to old-fashioned unwinding procedures using large cranes.
